MISSIONS

Community Presbyterian Church reaches beyond our walls to meet real needs in our community, from food and clothing to shelter and disaster relief.

These ministries are how we put Christ's love into action for our neighbors.

Food Ministry

Led by Elder Joanne Shambly, our Food Ministry works to ensure that families in our community have access to nourishing meals. Through our Food Pantry and community meal programs, including our annual Thanksgiving Dinner, we open our doors to neighbors in need with dignity and care.

Homeless Ministry

Led by Elder Irma Hilliard, our Homeless Ministry reaches out to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in our community, offering support, resources, and compassion to those who need it most.

Community Garden

Led by Elder Irma Hilliard, our Community Garden grows fresh produce that supports our outreach efforts, providing nourishing food to families in our community while giving our congregation a hands-on way to serve.

Clothing Closet

Led by Elder Phyllis Parker, our Clothing Closet provides clean, gently used clothing to individuals and families in our community, helping meet a basic need with generosity and grace.

Mission Trips

Our mission work extends beyond Portsmouth, with congregation members participating in service trips to Haiti and disaster recovery efforts in North Carolina, bringing hope and hands-on help to communities facing hardship.
